| Customer Reviews: Beautiful Mirror. Tricky to Put Together. February 12, 2010 Sparkle (Northern Virginia) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Just last night, I assembled this GORGEOUS mirror and put it into action.
The Good:
* The mirror is shipped in two different, nicely packed boxes. The frame in one, mirror in another.
* The mirror is GORGEOUS!
* They send you the light bulbs you'll need plus a few extra. (Nice touch)
* The functionality, lighting etc. on this mirror is better than I expected.
* It is professionally sized (big).
The Tricky:
* The directions seem to have been written by someone who knows how to put things together easily. They leave out a lot of tips that though perhaps
obvious to some, would be helpful. I've listed them below. I think assembly using two people will be easy if you know these things ahead of
time.
* There are two parts to assembly. Sticking the mirror to the frame and bolting the frame to the platform.
* You get one shot when putting the mirror on the adhesive they've provided. If you miss, if it's crooked (and it likely will be) ... it's too
late. It is hard to get the mirror on perfectly straight without adjustment. It is definitely stuck and impossible to remove without ruining or
breaking the mirror. I learned this the hard way and used Liquid Nails that I bought at Home Depot for my second application. (With Liquid
nails, you get 10 minutes to readjust, straighten or center. With the adhesive they send, which is unbelievable - you have NO readjustments.) )
* Be sure to direct the cord to the back or the front of the mirror (depending on your needs) BEFORE you attach the frame to the platform.
* The short screws securing the frame go on the top of the platform in the holes that have a metal "liner" in them.
* The long screws go underneath and screw into the mirror frame itself.
I LOVE this mirror. It isn't that hard to put together, but the tips would be nice ahead of time. I will be using this mirror everyday!
